Town of Ludlow, Ludlow 250th Committee Invites the Community to ‘Last Night,’ Culmination of Ludlow’s Celebrations

LUDLOW — Town Administrator Marc Strange and Ludlow 250th Committee Chairwoman Linda Collette invite the public to “Last Night,” the final event in a year-long series celebrating Ludlow’s incorporation 250 years ago.

When:

Saturday, Feb. 22, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Rain date Feb. 23)
A fireworks display will conclude the event at 6 p.m. 

Where:

Ludlow High School, 500 Chapin St., Ludlow. 

What: 

The Ludlow community has united countless times during the past year for parades, fundraisers, festivals, holiday house-decorating contests, pancake breakfasts and more to celebrate 250 years of Ludlow’s rich history and ever-growing legacy.

On Feb. 22, the celebrations will conclude with “Last Night,” an immersive celebration featuring food trucks, character visits from Anna, Elsa and Spiderman,  free crafts for kids, and more than 70 artisans, crafters, and local authors. 

Representatives from Lupa Zoo will be bringing small animals with which guests can interact. Balloon artist and magician Ed Popielarczyk will be at the event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. making balloon animals and doing magic tricks. Live music will be performed over the course of the day by the CCG Band and the Kingdom of Jones Band. 

Outdoors, children and families can ride the “roaming railroad.” There will also be a bonfire and a fireworks display. 

The Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, mounted patrol officers, Ludlow Police and Fire, Ludlow Health Department, local Scout troops and representatives from local non-profits will also be in attendance.

The event will conclude Ludlow’s 250th celebrations, marking the end of a fun-filled year of events made special through the community’s enthusiasm and spirit.
