Spotlight On Excellence: Finding Peace, Passion and Community Through Crystals

Sometimes the path to a new passion begins in the most unexpected places. For one Ludlow business owner, the journey started while working as a special education teacher.

Seeking a way to stay grounded and maintain a sense of peace, this search turned into a discovery of the healing and calming world of crystals—guided early on by supportive coworkers who shared their knowledge and enthusiasm.

Read on below:

What began as a personal outlet quickly grew into something much more meaningful. Less than two years later, that spark of curiosity blossomed into a full crystal shop, Iridescence LLC, right here at 314 Sewall St. in Ludlow. “I love being able to share my love for crystals with others,” the owner shared—and that passion shines through the moment you walk in the door.

The shop is more than a retail space; it’s a reflection of two creative loves brought together: crystals and decorating. Every corner is intentionally arranged to create a warm, welcoming, and enjoyable experience for customers—whether you’re an experienced collector or just stepping into the world of crystals for the first time.

For those brand new to crystals, the owner recommends starting with amethyst. Considered one of the best protection stones, amethyst is something she believes everyone should keep in their vehicle for an added sense of safety. From raw pieces to polished stones, bracelets, and necklaces, visitors can explore multiple forms of this calming and protective crystal.

But above all, the shop’s philosophy centers around connection. “I always tell my customers to choose the stone that calls to them,” she explains. “It’s really all about the connection when it comes to finding the crystal for you.” With gentle guidance and no pressure, customers are encouraged to follow their intuition and discover the stones meant for them.

Beyond the merchandise, the shop has become a gathering place—a space where people with shared interests can come together. Whether it’s a class, a workshop, or a tarot reading, each event creates a sense of community and belonging. “I love finding a common ground for others to come together,” she says. “It’s always a great experience.”

When asked to describe her space in just three words, she didn’t hesitate: amazing positive vibes.

And truly, that’s what you’ll feel when you step inside.
