It’s Time for “Spring Cleaning”

Our community is taking “Spring Cleaning” to a whole new level! The Town of Ludlow’s Department of Veterans Services is hosting a community-wide cleanup day tomorrow, May 3, beginning at 9 a.m.

Participants will gather at the Veterans Memorial, 11 East St., before setting off to pick up trash, clean the sidewalks, and tend to flowerbeds and treebelts. This event is open to the public!

Please bring gardening tools, weed whackers, racks, etc. Let’s keep our community clean and beautiful!

The cleanup is being held in partnership with the VFW Post 3236, Lions Clubs International, Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, the Rotary Club of Ludlow, and the Ludlow 250th Commission.

The Ludlow Community Center/Randall Boys & Girls Club opened its doors on March 1, 1950, and has been serving the Town of Ludlow and neighboring towns for 75 years. The Club serves to inspire youth and adults to build better communities by providing life-enhancing experiences and programs through which they will realize their full potential as responsible and caring citizens.

The Club provides affordable childcare, youth and adult sports programs, a fitness center, fitness classes, an outdoor SportCourt, community safety trainings, an indoor pool, youth leadership opportunities, and more. Membership is available to all residents, regardless of location, and there is a reduced rate for Ludlow residents, Ludlow town employees, senior citizens, and childcare program participants.

This year, the Club is celebrating its 75th Anniversary and is hosting different events such as athletic tournaments and family-friendly community events. Through these events and additional community donations, the Club hopes to raise $75,000 to support specific physical projects to improve the Club’s space.

Ludlow Community Center Randall Boys & Girls Club is located at 91 Claudia’s Way.
